President - Carol Anderson

Carol Anderson was introduced to genealogy thru her husband Bob. After having enjoyed a wonderful hobby of singing for 35 years in Sweet Adelines, she decided to begin a new hobby and share it with her husband, and what better way then thru genealogy.

It has been 10 years of researching for Carol and already so many interesting ancestors have been found (or rather they found her as the saying goes). Carol had no knowledge of having Civil War soldiers or Revolutionary War patriots in her family history. She has that and much, much more. Now, because of her research, she is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the Colonial Dames XVII Century.

Temecula Valley Genealogical Society membership continues to grow monthly because of the many volunteers and their positive attitude to learn and grow in our electronic, multi−media world. As a member of the TVGS Board, a past Membership Chair, and now as President, Carol is proud to be a part of the awesome Temecula Valley Genealogical Society.

President’s Monthly Message

“JUNE packed full of FUN!

We started June off with the “Summer Social”. This was a great time for  members to exchange information on their family names, the areas of researching, and the chance to get to know one another and socialize.

A huge THANK YOU to Beverlee Stuart-Borok for all her effort organizing this event, and to all those members who stepped in to help, when our new hospitality chairman; Barbara Perez, was called out of town at the last minute due to a family emergency.

We thoroughly enjoyed the DVD by Vane Scott, “The Many Faces of Old Glory II”. It was amazing to see the evolution of our nation’s flag.

Another event in June was Temecula Valley Genealogical Societies participation in the Grand Opening of the Vail Ranch History Center held by Vail Ranch Restoration Association (VaRRA). TVGS member and chairman of this event, Cheryl Contopulos, did a fabulous job of organizing and scheduling. We are so grateful for all the members who volunteered their time for this event. Cheryl we could not have done it without you. Thank You so very much for all your hard work and your creativity.

Our participation was another way for TVGS to be active in our community and its’ history.

July 14th is our next meeting − see you at the Genealogy Class and General Meeting.
